George Boyd, 76, Dies Here Friday; Services Held Sun.

George W. Boyd, 76, of Lusk, died in the Spencer Hospital Friday from a heart condition. He had been in failing health for the past three years. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from Peet Chapel with Rev. Theodore Foster officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist. Active pallbearers were George Mill, John Sturman, Roy Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Hans Gutschi, Andrew Christian, P. P. Brown, Harmon Templeton, George L. Miller and Len Christian.

George William Boyd was born Feb. 11, 1882 in Winnebago, Ill. He came to Wyoming with his parents from Madison, Nebr. in 1900. They made their home on Plum Creek on the ranch formerly owned by John Dougherty, moving to Lusk in 1908.

He was interested in the Niobrara Motors Co. with his brother, S. W. Boyd and Harry Rogers selling his interest in 1918. He married Flora Morse November 6, 1919 in Benton County, Ark.

They moved to Glenrock in 1923 where he purchased a ranch, selling it in 1925 and moving to California. Mrs. Boyd died in 1945.

Survivors include one brother, S. W. Boyd of Lusk; two nieces, Mrs. Florence Canaday of Douglas, and Mrs. Laura Foley of Lusk and other relatives.
