Services were held at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Thermopolis Nov. 4 for former Lance Creek resident Bernice Maude Morgan. Mrs. Morgan, 69, died Nov. 1 at the Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Father George Parmeter officiated at the services. Bernice Johnson was born Oct. 20, 1916, in Fremont, Neb., the daughter of Roy and Maude Carlisle Johnson. She came to the Lance Creek area as a young girl.

On July 26, 1935, she and Dale R. Morgan were married. They lived in various places in Wyoming including Lance Creek where her husband was employed by Continental Oil Company, and earlier in the mines at Sunrise. In 1960 the couple moved to the Thermopolis area.

Morgan was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Thermopolis and enjoyed reading and sewing until ill health forced her to quit.

She is survived by her husband, Dale; two sons, Dennis of Meeteese and Kerry of Powell; one daughter, Mikkie Deromedi of Meeteese; three brothers, Walter Johnson of Guernsey and Lyle and Orley Johnson of Casper; one sister, Vera Clements of El Monte, Calif., and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Tommy.
