Richard D. Jordan

Richard Daniel Jordan of Fremont, Neb., died Nov. 2, 1985, at Memorial Hospital in Fremont. He was 65.

Mr. Jordan was born June 25, 1920, at Harrison, Neb., the son of Richard and Nellie Belle Scott Jordan. He grew up on his parents' ranch north of Harrison and graduated from Sioux County High School in 1938. He was also a graduate of the agricultural college at Fort Collins, Colo.

He was an Army Air Corps veteran, serving in Europe during World War II. After his discharge he farmed near Whitney, Nebr., until moving to Fremont in 1970.

A master plumber, he retired in 1978 because of ill health.

He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont, the VFW and the American Legion.

He is survived by two daughters, Leslie Jordan of Torrington and Jackie Martin of Lexington, Ky.; six sisters, Verona Bristol of Hot Springs, S.D., Helen Jordan of Riverton, Harriet Iverson of Edgemont, S.D., Sadie Lohr of Bonneville, Cecelia Jordan of Bellevue, Neb., and Iola Hubbard of Shoshoni.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Dennis, and sisters, Gwenolyn Jordan and Irene Donaldson.

Mass of the ressurection was held Nov. 6 at Ford Meade Veterans Chapel in Fort Meade, S.D. Fr. Frank V. Vallo officiated. Burial was in Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, S.D., with full military honors.
