Funeral held for Canaday

The funeral for Randy Lee Canaday, who died Aug. 7 in a one-truck accident near Pierre,S. D., was Aug. 11 at the Peet Mortuary Chapel.

Randy was born Dec. 5, 1961 at Chadron, Neb. When he was 2 his family moved to Denver and the next year to Douglas before moving to a ranch near Keeline when Randy was four. He attended Manville Grade School and had attended N. C. H. S. for one year prior to his death. While in school, Randy was active in wrestling, basketball, football, and track

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Fred Canaday.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Heins of Keeline; his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Canaday of Chadron; brothers Billy Canaday of Chadron, John Canaday and Cody Heins of Keeline; sister, Beverly Canaday of Keeline; brother Donnie Canaday of Chadron; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Garhart of Commerce City, Colo., Mrs. Fred Canaday of Chadron and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Heins of Torrington. Many other relatives and friends also survive.

Officiating at the funeral was Rev. Chan Bayne. Music was provided by Minerva Watson, organist and Mark Lohr, soloist, who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and Amazing Grace".

Pallbearers were Criss Ward, Guy Judy, Dale Kaan, Mike Tschacher, Tony Gladson and Freddy Thomas.

Interment was at Dellview Cemetery in Manville.
