Service here Monday for Don Carpenter

Funeral service was held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel for Donald Carpenter, 50, who died March 22 at Powell.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Frank Bozart. Mrs. A. F. DeCastro, organist, accompanied Mark Lohr as he sang "Man of Galilee" and "Just a Closer Walk With Thee."

Casket bears were Norman Brillhart, Bill Dockery, Howard Haworth, Archie Lauer, George Clarke and Harry Fernau, Jr. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Donald Robert Carpenter was born at Morrill, Neb., the son of George J. and Mildred Noland Carpenter. He attended schools at Morrill and Barber College at Omaha, Neb.

He barbered in Riverton before coming to Lusk in 1953. He worked for Harry Vickory later purchasing that shop which he operated until 1972 when he moved to Powell where he owned and operated a barber shop.

He served in the U. S. Navy from 1944-1946, serving in the Philippines. He married Mary Beatrice Sullivan November 13, 1955, at Lusk.

Mr. Carpenter was past president of the Wyoming State Barber Board, a member of the Baptist Church of Lusk and the V.F.W. at Powell.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters Dianne Allen of Little Rock, Ark. and Judith Weeks of Casper; one son, Robert Carpenter of Powell; two brothers G. Willard Carpenter, Morrill and Kenneth R. Carpenter, Lyman, Neb., and five grandchildren.

His parents and one sister died previously.
