Obituary

The many friends of George J. Lorenzen heard with regret of his death at St. Joseph's Hospital, Omaha, Saturday, Jan. 8th, 1916, following an operation for tumor or enlargement of the spleen. His wife and his brother, Jurgen, were with him when he passed away - his end coming peacefully and being conscious almost to the last. The remains were brot to Lusk and interment was made in Lusk cemetery Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was born in Germany in 1870 and was a little over 45 years of age. He came to America at the age of 15 and passed a few years in and near Omaha, coming to Wyoming over 20 years ago. In 1896 he was married to Miss Clara Schroefel, and 2 boys and 2 girls were born to them, his widow and children surviving him. He is also survived by two brothers, J. D. Lorenzen of Lusk and Peter Lorenzen; a sister, Mrs Geo. Hardegen of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and three sisters in the old country. George was an honest, straight-forward man, a good citizen, and was well liked by all who came in contact with him.

Funeral services were held in the Lusk Congregational Church, Rev. Dr. Atkinson of Jireh preaching the sermon. The following intimate friends of the deceased acted as pall-bearers: Andrew J. Anderson, Geo. H. Giinther, Harrry C. Snyder, Henry Petz, John F. Harkin and Frank Wilson. Many beautiful flowers adorned the casket attesting the esteem in which he was held by his many friends.

We take this opportunity of returning thanks to our many friends for the evidences of their sympathy in our late bereavement; and we also thank the donors for the beautiful flowers, those tokens of love.
