Leonard Lincoln

Leonard Lincoln of Lusk died Monday morning at his home.

Mr. Lincoln, 73, who reportedly had been despondent, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to County Coroner Walther Doctor.

Mr. Lincoln had been in ill health for several years and health for several years and had become more disabled in recent weeks.

A native of Gove county, Kan., he was the eldest son of Joshua and May Lincoln.

The famiy moved to the pioneer community of Jireh, located west of Lusk, in 1922.

Mr. Lincoln was an expert machinist and followed that trade with the oil business in Lance Creek, Laramie, California, and more recently, Casper.

Upon his retirement, Mr. Lincoln and his wife, Minnie, moved to Lusk.

Mr. Lincoln and his wife, the former Minnie Hawkins, were married in Harrison in 1938.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Lincoln is survived by two daughters, Jenne Nauman of Casper, and Clara Spencer of Aloha, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Emery Gaukel of Keeline; two brothers, Cecil of Lusk and Russell of Portland, Ore.; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a daughter, three brothers and a sister.
