Rose Marie Corson
Rose Marie Corson, age 91, of Glenrock - formerly of Casper and Douglas - passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at her home in Glenrock with family nearby. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2010, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Glenrock. Rosary will be recited at St. Louis at 7 p.m. Thursday April 15.
Rose was born in Denver, Colo. July 6, 1918. Her early years were a mystery to her, so her family knows nothing of it. She lived in the Wyoming State Children’s Home in Cheyenne, then Casper, and graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper while living with the Dr. Stuckenhoff family.
She married John Julian ‘Judy’ Tangney in 1938. To this marriage three children were born: Mary Ann, John, and Jim (known as Ryan as a child). She married Harry Murphy in Thermopolis in 1947, and they had one daughter, Rita. She married Jimmie Corson in 1959, and they had one daughter, Renee. Rose spent most of her life in Casper, Wyo.
Rose was a devoted mother and grandmother, loved gardening and cooking, and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Casper for many years. She was also a charter member of the Thermopolis BPO Does Drove #50.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; her son John; and four grandchildren. She is survived by her children and their families: Mary Ann Davis of Glenrock; Jim Tangney of Lusk; Rita Downs of Douglas; and Renee’ Leppard of San Marcos, Tex.; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and other family and friends.
