Lola Mae Dobson
Lola Mae Dobson was born Dec. 25, 1942, in Crawford, Neb. to Ray and Pearl Owens. She entered into rest July 5, 2010, in Lusk, with her family at her side.
She was raised in Lusk, where she met her husband and life partner, Dennis E. Dobson. They married in 1963, and their union brought four children: Kathy L. Ruscitto, Kristine Phillips, Kevin L. Dobson, and Kimberly L. Dobson, all raised in Lusk.
Lola was blessed with grandchildren, and later with great-grandchildren. She played a huge and life-changing roll in all their lives.
Lola was an excellent beautician, and worked for Gemila Stetson for many years. All of her life she enjoyed the outdoors: fishing, camping, boat riding and gardening, and just spending quality time relaxing with her dear husband on the lawn. She also loved to shop. She could spend many hours shopping and leave with only a few items. Lola loved to watch and cheer for the Cubs, as well as computer gaming with her great-grandkids. She loved spending time with family and friends - especially her dear friend Shirley Murphy, who has been her best friend since the 5th grade.
Family and friends were everything to Lola, and she loved them all from the depths of her heart. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
She is survived by her husband and best friend, Denny E. Dobson; cousin Don Strait and wife Faye; daughter Kathy Ruscitto; daughter and fiancé Kristine Phillips and Steve Robertson; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Sandy Dobson; daughter and fiancé Kim Dobson and Kenny Roch; great friend Shirley Murphy; grandchildren Laura Mae Phillips, Steven Ray Lashmett Johnson, Vannessa Lynn Phillips, Ashley Amanda Marie Dobson, David J. Crystal, Amy Chivonne, Roy Lurton, and Ashley Michelle Lynn Penfield; and great-grandchildren Darian Briezy Byers Lashmett, Kaleb Micheal Phillips, Jaidyn Mae Parramore, Ryan Danial Wertze Lashmett, Connor Thomas Parramore, and Bo Raymond, Reba Brean, Alexis, and Arebel Stock; and other family and friends.
Lola was preceded in death by her dear Grandma Molly Goff; her parents, Ray and Pearl Owens; brothers Larry Ray Owens and Donald Roy Owens; special aunt and uncle, Beaulah and Charlie Yarbrough; uncle and aunt Clarence and Grace Strait; and granddaughter Tabitha Kristi Johnson. Also preceding her in death were George and Ruth Dobson, Dorothy Himes Maloney and John, and her dear friend Raymond Murphy.
The family requests all donations be made to Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas in memory of Lola.
Funeral arrangements were made by Pier Funeral Home in Lusk.
Lola is at rest in Lusk with her family members who have gone on before her.
