Fred B. Rogers Passes Away at Home In Denver

FORMER RESIDENT OF LUSK SUCCUMBS TO HEART ATTACK

Body to Be Brought Here for Burial and Funeral Services Will be Held Next Monday

Word was received here Tuesday of the death of Fred B. Rogers at his home in Denver. This came as a shock to the community as Mr. Rogers was well known here and has a host of friends who will be grieved to learn of his passing.

Mr. Rogers came to Wyoming in 1894 and engaged in ranching, continuing in that business until the year of 1914 when he was appointed county sheriff of Niobrara county. After serving in that capacity for one term, he was elected sheriff in 1916, serving one term. At the expiration of that time, he began dealing in oil lands and leases. About two years ago he, with his family, moved to Denver.

Late last Monday night, he was taken seriouly ill and before aid could be summoned he had succumbed to an attack of heart ailment from which he had suffered for several years.

The remains will be shipped to Lusk for interment the latter part of the week. Services will be held Monday, the place and hour to be determined later.

Deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mamie Rogers; one son, Harley; three daughters, Ethel, Mary Evelyn and Mary Geneva, a sister, Mrs. Mabel Shipley of Watersville, Calif.; and four brothers, Harry, Foster and Ray of Lusk and W. B. Rogers of Hastings, Neb.
