Mrs. Karina Carlson Dies Here: Funeral Is Held in Nebraska
Mrs. Anna Karina Carlson, 72, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jennie Held, on Saturday, February 22, 1936, after an illness of less than a week.
A severe heart attack was the cause of her death.
The Peet Mortuary hearse took the remains to Chadron Sunday and all of Mrs. Carlson's children accompanied the body, which went by train from Chadron to Elgin, Neb., where funeral services were held, and burial in the cemetery there.
Mrs. Carlson has made her home with her daughters here part of the time during the last few years, and has made many friends who are grieved at her going.
Mrs. Carlson was born in Oslo, Norway, on October 26, 1864. Her husband, Carl John Carlson, preceded her in death, but she is survived by five children: Mrs. Jennie Held and Mrs. Agnes Taylor of Lusk, Mrs. Charles Gard of Lander, Mrs. Dean Leach of Oakdale, Neb., and Conrad Carlson of Ekiah, Calif., all of whom were with her when the end came.
