Dan Daley, Resident of Wyoming For 57 Years, Dies Here Sunday Afternoon

Daniel (Dan) Daley, 69, who has been a resident of this part of Wyoming for the past 57 years, died Sunday afternoon, February 23, at 2:30 o'clock.

Mr. Daley had been in poor health for some time and was being cared for at the home of his niece, Mrs. Lee Stark, where he died.

The deceased was born in Dixon, Ill., July 22, 1866, and when a boy of 15 moved with his family to Wyoming, and has made this State his home since the year 1879.

Mr. Daley never married and was engaged in the ranch business most of his life.

Funeral services were held from St. Leo's Catholic Church at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, with Father Miller of Douglas officiating.

The pallbearers were Walter Cowger, George McCabe, Harry Fernau, Chris Joss, Jess Boner and Don Taylor.

The music was furnished by Mrs. Frank Barrett, Mrs. John Cordell, Mrs. Bennie Updike and George Bison, who sang "O., Thou Sacred Heart," "O, What Could My Jesus Do More," and "Nearer, My God, to thee," accompanied by Mrs. Joe Kuhn. Mrs. Barrett also sang a solo, "Ava Maria."

Rosary services were held Tuesday evening at eight o'clock.

Those surviving are two brothers, Edward Daley of Chewalla, Wash., and Tom Daley of Shelby, Montana; two sisters, Mrs. A. L. Miller of Lusk and Mrs. Mary McGinnis of Lusk.
