Funeral Services For Mrs. Rogers Held in Manville
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Katherine Rogers at the Methodist Church in Manville last Friday afternoon. The church was made beautiful with many flowers. A large number of friends and neighbors came to pay their last respects to one whom they had known and loved.
That "Grandma" Rogers was truly prepared to go on her journey on this unknown sea was shown by the fact that she had made all arrangements for that journey. She chose the hymns she wished to be sung and also the text in the Bible for the sermon.
A quartet composed of Mrs. H. D. Howard, Rev. J. E. Sears, Mrs. J. E. Sears and C. W. Pfeifer sang the songs Mrs. Rogers had selected, which were "Crossing the Bar," "No Night There," Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "Meet Me There."
Rev. J. E. Sears conducted the services, using the text, John 14-2, which Mrs. Rogers had selected.
Pallbearers were all grandsons or grandsons by marriage, being Dallas and Keith Swisher, Russell and Bud Burns, Ira Lamb and Jack Carlson.
Interment was in the Douglas Cemetery, the Peet Mortuary in charge.
