Iris Winona Mangus
Memorial services for Iris Winona Mangus, 86, were held Friday morning, Nov. 20, at the fundamental Baptist church with Pastor Darrell Grimm officiating.
She died Nov. 16 at the Wyoming Medical Center.
She was born June 20, 1912, in Burwell, Neb., the daughter of William Jesse and Emma Mae Goatley.
She married Clifford Mangus on Jan. 17, 1935 in Kanorado, KS. They lived in Saline, KS, and moved to San Francisco in 1939.
In 1945, they moved to Lance Creek and from there to Lusk, where she resided until 1981, when she moved to Glenrock to be near her son and his family.
She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching her son, granddaughter, grandsons and great-grandsons as they competed in various sporting activities. Her spirit will be present at the baseball, football, basketball and rodeo areas where she spent so much of her time.
Survivors include her son, Danny Mangus an his wife of Glenrock; three grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret Mangus, of Fallon, NV.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one sister.
