Funeral services for Gary Lee Scott, will be held Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at 2 p.m., at the Crossroad Ministries Church in Lusk, Wyo. with Pastor Tony Perry of Crossroad Ministries. Interment will be at Lusk Cemetery in Lusk Wyoming.

Gary died suddenly Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Niobrara Health and Life Center in Lusk, Wyo.

Gary Lee Scott was born Aug. 28, 1943 in Verdel, Neb. He was the son of Lloyd Scott and Nadine (Curts) Scott. The family moved a lot throughout his younger years due to his father being in construction work. They finally settled in Lusk, Wyoming in 1962 when his father was hired at the County. Gary graduated from Niobrara County High School in 1962. He then entered the United States Army, and graduated in 1963 in the Linemen Course in Corpus Christi, GA, and then served in Korea.

He was married to Marlee Catherine (Thompson) Scott in Lusk, Wyoming in 1963. They were married for 39 years until she passed away in July of 2002. He then remarried De Roma Darlene (Minette) Scott in Lusk, Wyoming in 2004. They were married for almost 7 years before he passed.

Gary was a retired rancher; he held many construction jobs, heavy equipment operator, and a truck driver. He was doing what he loved most when he passed which was gardening and having his garden stand, getting to see all the wonderful people who would stop. He loved to joke around and give everyone a hard time!

He was survived by his wife De Roma Scott of Lusk; two daughters Christian Scott of Denver, CO, Stephanie Fitzwater (Bill Fitzwater) of Lusk; a sister Janice Myren (Dale Myren) of Apache Junction AZ, two brothers, Danny Scott (Debbie Scott) of Lusk, WY, Terry Scott (Rita Scott) of Scottsbluff, NE; four granddaughters, Davi Cass Scott, Shatto Smith, Shilo Smith, Camdon Fitzwater; two great-grandsons Tatum Stallman, Talan Stallman. Three step-sons Dwayne Newbury, Ronald Newbury, Jevon Newbury; a step-daughter Chantelle Newbury; two step-grandsons Isaac Newbury, Bentley Newbury; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his wife of 39 years Marlee Scott; father Lloyd Scott; mother Nadine Scott; paternal grandparents Charles and Alta (Mills) Scott; maternal grandparents Ortis Curts, Ruth Curts Hall; an infant brother Donny Scott; and his son who he missed so much and is now able to be with after all of these years Sheldon Leo Davis Scott.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Green, Lew Landkamer, Steve Wedemeyer, Sean Dreesen, Bruce Himes, David Himes, Jim Jordan and Jevon Newbury.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tatum Stallman, Talan Stallman, Dale Myren, Danny Scott, Terry Scott, Moose Thompson, Bill Fitzwater, Ronald Newbury, Isaac Newbury, Bentley Newbury, Luther Penfield and David Bredthauer.

A public viewing will be held at the church on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. to 12 Noon and a family viewing will be held from 12:30 P.M. to 1:45 P.M.

A memorial to the Crossroad Ministries, P.O. Box 750, Lusk, Wyoming 82225 or to the Friends for Lusk Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 1211, Lusk, Wyoming 82225 would be appreciated by the family.
