Mrs. Mary McGinnis Claimed On Dec. 31

Mrs. Mary McGinnis, 64, passed away at her home in Lusk Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 5 a.m. following several years of failing health, to take another of the early day residents of this community.

Mrs. McGinnis was born at Fairfax, Iowa, February 27, 1876 and came to Wyoming about fifty years ago. Her husband the late John McGinnis preceded her in death several years ago. There were no children in the family and Mrs. McGinnis had made her home in Lusk since her husband's passing.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Miller of Lusk, and a brother, Ed Daley of Chewelah, Washington, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Tom Snow of Lang Beach, Calif., as well as a number of nephews and nieces.

Funeral arrangements were not completed Thursday morning pending word from Mms. Snow. Mrs. McGinnis was known as a cheerful and kind friend and neighbor and despite her failing health brought cheerfulness to those about her. A pioneer in this section of Wyoming, Mrs. McGinnis had known the early day hardships, contributed generously to the upbuilding of the community and until the last was active in church and community life. A complete obituary will be published in The Herald in the next issue.
