Memorial Services for Mrs. Britton Held Friday

Memorial services were held Friday afternoon in the United Presbyterian Church in Torrington for Mrs. Helena C. Britton, pioneer resident of Goshen County who died July 8 in DePaul Hospital in Cheyenne. Dr. Robert O. McCaslin officiated. Burial was made in Portland, Ore.

Helena C. Britton was born June 12, 1887 in Crawford the daughter of Anna Fischer and Bernhard Seikert and in April of 1909 she was married to Howard C. Britton at Crawford. They came to Goshen County and established residence in the Prairie Center community where they have since lived.

She was baptized in the Lutheran Church and was affiliated with the Royal Neighbor Lodge and the Prairie Center Homemakers Club. She had been in ill health for the past nine years.

Survivors include her husband, Howard; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Podolak, Lusk, and Mrs. Ruth Brinkel of Laurel, Mont.; three sons, Lester of Portland, Ore., Royce of Littleton, Colo., and Charles of Baker, Ore.; one brother, Otto of Omaha and 14 grandchildren. Four brothers and two sisters previously died.

A memorial to Heart, Cancer, Crippled Children and Mental Health has been set up by the family.
