OBITUARY
Mrs. Eva E. Christian, long a resident of this community, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nellie M. Burke, of Alhambra, California, March 31, 1945, after a week's illness from bronchial pneumonia.

Mrs. Christian was born in Gutherie Center, Iowa, July 21, 1859. She was educated in that State and taught school there as well as in Nebraska and Wyoming. After becoming the wife of Andrew Christian, who, it will be remembered, was formerly State representative, county commissioner and county assessor of Niobrara County, the family residence was for many years at Pleasant Ridge, Wyoming.

In 1910 Mrs. Christian and her husband moved to Long Beach, California. From that time until Mr. Christian's death in 1924, they made periodic trips to Wyoming, where the family ranch was still maintained.

While in Long Beach, Mrs. Christian was identified with the First Methodist church,m the Foreign Missionary Society, the City Clu of Long Beach, and the Ebell Club.

Since 1934 Mrs. Christian made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Nellie M. Burke, and son-in-law, Mayor Montivel A.Burke, of Alhambra, California.

At an early age Mrs. Christian united with the church and all throughout her life was devoted to the principles of Christianity. She was deeply interested in gospel work in foreign fields, and for years individually supported a missionary in China.

Surviving Mrs. Christian are two sons, Leonard F. and James W. Christian of Lusk, and a daughter, Mrs. Nellie M. Burke, of Alhambra, Calif.; eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two nieces, Mrs. Milo Wolff of Whitman, Wyo., and Mrs. Glen Kreman of Glen, Nebraska.

The inspiration Mrs. Christian was to her family and many friends throughout the years will be a lasting monument in her memory.

After the funeral held in Alhambra, Calif., April 4, 1945, Mrs. Christian was laid to rest by the side of her husband at Sunnyside Mausoleum in Long Beach, Calif.
