Robert Ray Cole, 63, of Lusk, passed away at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center on Jan. 17, 2014 due to illness. Memorial services will be held at Pier Funeral Home in Lusk Fri., Jan 24, 2014, at 1:00 p.m.

Robert was born in Lusk on Jan. 22, 1950, to Edwin Calvin and Jewell Shelby (Clark) Cole, the youngest of twelve children. He attended high school in Lusk. Following high school he was drafted into the Army in 1969. After his duty to the military he worked in the oilfields of Wyoming.

He and his first wife, Julie Ann Sikes, had two children, Amy Ruth and Patrick Brian. In 1989 he fell in love with his wife of 24 years, Kelley Ann, and her two children, Karen Marie and Michael James. Robert and Kelley moved from Utah to his home town in 1997.

Robert found his career in over the road trucking, with a career of 26 years behind the wheel. He worked at Fresh Start in Lusk, where he was known and loved for his warm welcome and his shared wisdom. He finally retired in Aug. of 2012.

Robert is survived by his wife Kelley; his children, Amy Ruth, Patrick Brian, Karen Marie, and Michael James; his grandchildren, Brian James, Bethany RayAnn, Brendon Patrick, and Brylee Ren; along with several nieces and nephews, including Scarlett Jewell, soon to be born to his great-niece Hannah Marie Cureton. Hannah honors her great-uncle by having baby Scarlett on his birthday, Wed., Jan. 22, 2014.

Robert was preceded in death by his eleven siblings, Michael Gene, Edwin Calvin, LouAnn, Eunice (Tine) June, Dorothy Ellen, Maxine Janet, James Luke, Peter Shelby, Mary Grace, William (Bill) Dean, and John Valentine; great-nephew James Luke II; and great-niece Sherry Jane Thomas.
