Vernon Keith Wintermote was born to Lester and Grace York Wintermote May 6, 1952 in Douglas, Wyoming. He was reared and educated in Douglas. He married Gail Lea Gurtler June 28, 1976 and they divorced in July 1980; no children.

He was a driver for Conoco Transportation for 17 years and worked on the family ranch when he was in the area. He was in the Army National Guard for 12 years and was honorably discharged in March 1983 as a specialist 5.

He was a member of the Wyoming Stockgrowers Association and a 15-year members of the Converse County Rural Fire Department.

He was survived by his mother, Grace Wintermote; sisters Peg Middleton, Joan Wright, and Sharon Ferris; brothers Allen and Steve Wintermote as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1983; his paternal grandparents, Elsworth and Rachel Wintermote; and maternal grandparents, John and Verna York.

Vernon's information was obtained from family members, funeral memory book, and obituary in the Douglas Budget, Douglas, Wyoming January, 1966. It is submitted by his cousin, Betty Alberts.
