Kermit Brown Dies Sunday in Torrington
Kermit Brown, 61, a long-time resident of the Moore Springs and Fort Laramie areas, died at the Torrington hospital June 6. Funeral service was held at the Colyer Funeral Home this Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington.
Casket bearers were Richard Rush, Jack Hughes, Roy Williams, Warren Lester, Bob Hoyl and Ray Martinez.
He was born in Nance County, Nebraska, December 9, 1909, the son of Carl E. and Rose Brown, and came to Wyoming with his parents in 1914. He grew up in the Moore Springs Community. He married Ellen Pugsley at Lusk, February 14, 1931, and the family has ranched 26 miles northeast of Fort Laramie for the past 39 years.
Survivors include his widow, Ellen; one son, C. C. Brown of Laramie; six daughters, Mrs. Edith Rush, Guernsey; Mrs. June Hughes, Torrington; Mrs. Mona Kay William, Gardiner, Mont.; Mrs. Leda Lester, Riverton, Wyo.; Mrs. Dolly Hoyl, Torrington and Mrs. Jeanie Martinez, Casper; two brothers, A. W. "Bill" Brown, Sterling, Colo.; and Carl Brown, Lusk; four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Eggers, Torrington; Mrs. Bernice Carmichael, Pinedale, Wyo.; Mrs. Annabelle Hoy, Jay Em and Mrs. Bonnie Hurst, Yoder, Wyo.; and 19 grandchildren.
