Services for Mrs. Carl Brown Held May 18
Funeral services for Mrs. Carl Brown of the Moore Springs community were held at the Peet Chapel at 2:00 p.m., May 18, with Richard Scott of the Church of Christ officiating. Mrs. Carl Peterson, Mrs. Herbert Cockreham and Al Davenport sang "In the Garden" and "Beautiful Isle." Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist. Active pallbearers were Paul Haarala, David Carmichael, Kenneth Vondra, Jack Hughes, Richard Rush and Billy Joe Rush. Honorary bearers were Ross Starner, Robert Newell, Fred Damrow, Ollie Damrow, Clarence Pugsley, Archie Pugsley, Willard Robinett and Ray Kelly. Interment was in the Lusk cemetery.
Rose Blanche Brown, daughter of Charlie and Tena Yonda Brown, was born in Cedar Rapids, Neb., February 13, 1893. She was married to Carl Brown in Cedar Rapids on August 18, 1909. Coming to Wyoming in 1914, they homesteaded on the ranch, 25 miles southwest of Lusk, which was to be their home until her death on May 15, 1960. They were the parents of eight children, seven of whom survive. Mrs. Brown was very active in the affairs of the community.
Survivors include her husband, Carl; four daughters, Mrs. J. E. Christiansen of Torrington, Mrs. W. R. Carmichael of Pinedale, Mrs. J. Edward Hoy of Moore Springs and Mrs. Donald Hurst of Yoder; three sons, Adron of Sterling, Colo., and Kermit and Carl, Jr., of Moore Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Fay Oomens, Chicago; Mrs. Lilas Murphy, Arlington, Neb., and Mrs. Viola Livingston, St. Paul, Minn.; two brothers, Arveen Brown of Long Pine, Neb., and Levi Brown of Norfolk, Neb.
