Edward H. Bryant

Edward H. Bryant, age 57, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at his home in New Jersey. A funeral service was held in New Jersey. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 14, 2001, 11 a.m. at the Lusk Cemetery with Pastor Mark Lohr officiating.

Mr. Bryant was born on June 21, 1943 in Washington, D.C. to Edward C. and Virginia DeGering Bryant. While his father was in the Army, he and his mother spent some time with his grandparents on the DeGering Ranch near Lusk and a year in Hawaii where his father was stationed. His family moved to Laramie in 1947 when his father became a member of the faculty of the University. He attended U.W. Prep School and graduated from high school there in 1961. Many of his summers were spent working on his grandparents' ranch.

Following his graduation from U.W. in 1965 he joined the Army, serving in Finance in Heidelberg until his enlistment expired in 1968. While in Germany he met and married Lydia Weigmann. They moved to Washington, D.C. and in 1972 he began working in Army Procurement. He worked in White Sands, N.M. and Ft. Monmouth, N.J. as well as two and a half years in Korea and a year in Saudi Arabia. He took early retirement from Civil Service in 1995 due to failing health caused by Myotonic Dystrophy.

Lydia Bryant passed away in 1974. Mr. Bryant later married Susan Roberts in 1983.

Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his wife Lydia and his sister Bonnie Jean Kirkpatrick.

Survivors include his wife Susan of Toms River, New Jersey; his parents Edward and Virginia Bryant of Potomac, Maryland; two daughters, Lisa Bryant of Potomac, Maryland and Katharina Bryant of Germantown, Maryland; son, Eric Bryant and his wife Darcy of Laramie; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Roberts of Hammonton, New Jersey, and Emily Roberts of Greenville, N.C.; two grandsons, Isaac and Elijah Bryant of Laramie. Local survivors include an uncle, John DeGering of Lusk and two cousins, Kenny DeGering and Denise Smith of Lusk.

Military Honors will be conducted by the Wyoming Army National Guard.

A memorial has been established to Compassionate Care Hospice, 53 Mill Avenue, Mt. Holly, N.J. 08060

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk is in charge of local arrangements.
