Last Rites Held Friday Afternoon for John Bryant

Funeral services for John F. Bryant, 79, were conducted from the Peet Chapel on Friday afternoon, February 24, at 2:30.

Rev. H. T. Clark, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated and the songs "Going Down the Valley" and "This World Is Not My Home" were sung as duets by Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. A. F. DeCastro, accompanied on the chapel organ by Mrs. J. P. Watson.

The casket bearers were Dale Windom, Rulo Roberts, Frank Ferro, C. E. Marvin, James McGinnis and Arthur Dagrano. Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery.

Mr. Bryant had been a resident of Wyoming for 39 years. He and his wife and children came here in 1911 and settled on a ranch some thirty miles northeast of Lusk, where he engaged in farming and ranching. About 25 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Bryant moved into Lusk and for ten years Mr. Bryant was caretaker at the Lusk cemetery, which position he resigned four years ago because of ill health, and since that time has been confined to a hospital most of the time.

He died at his home in Lusk on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 21, at 3:00 o'clock.

John Fagan Bryant was born at Minburn, Iowa, November 3, 1870. On March 8, 1892, he was married to Candis Freda Myers and they became the parents of four children. Their only daughter, Iris Marjorie, died in infancy.

He is survived by his widow and three sons, Fred A. Bryant of Lusk, John Wilbur Bryant of Denver, Colo. and Elvin J. Bryant of Powell, Wyo., two brothers and one sister, W. L. Bryant, Darby, Mont.; A. C. Bryant, Riverton, Wyo. and Mrs. W. O. Bryant, Manilla, Iowa, also many other relatives and a host of friends.
