O. A. Moss Dies in Lusk Friday
Oliver A. Moss, 62, retired Chicago and North Western Railway agent at Manville, died Friday at the Spencer Hospital following an illness of two years. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from Peet Chapel. Remains were sent to Denver for cremation.
Past Master, C. E. Marvin presided over Masonic services assisted by Worshipful Master, H. L. Klindt and Past Master, Gerald Bardo.
Mr. Moss was raised a Master Mason in Roosevelt Lodge No. 39 of Manville in May 1927 and was Worshipful Master in 1932. In 1934 Roosevelt consolidated with Harmony Lodge No. 24 of Lusk.
A male quartet composed of Dr. Richard Collins, E. E. Davenport, Harry Lyon, and L. E. Johnsonbaugh sang "Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "Abide With Me." Mrs. J.P. Watson was organist.
Oliver A. Moss was born April 22, 1896 at Buckbee, Wisc. He was educated at Seymour, Wisc. and enlisted in the Signal Corps of the U.S. Army serving during World War I. Following his discharge he returned to Nebraska and Wyoming where her served as agent and operator for the C & NW Railway.
He and Rose F. Stasch were married in 1919 at Valentine, Nebr., and in 1920 they came to Wyoming. In 1925 they located in Manville where he served as agent until his retirement in 1957.
They were the parents of five children, Harold L. Moss and Mrs. Bonnie Neal, Spokane Wash., James V. Moss, Lance Creek, and Earl O. and Charles L. Moss of Atkinson, Nebr. A sister, Miss Rella Moss of Appleton, Wisc., and six grandchildren also survive.
