Violet Marie Burt
Violet Marie Burt of Bowman, N.D., died Wednesday, May 31, 2000 at Sunset Care Center. Services were held Friday, June 2 at The Assembly of God Church in Bowman, N.D., with Pastor Nolan Sanders officiating. Burial services followed in the Cave Hills Cemetery outside Buffalo, N.D.
Violet Mae Burt was born January 24, 1906, at Terraville, S.D., to Leander and Sandra Juhala. At the age of four, her family moved by covered wagon to the Cave Hills of S.D., where she completed her education in a small country school.
On December 11, 1924, she married Jack Burt at Bullock, S.D., where they lived until they moved to Buffalo, S.D. in 1933. To this union, six children were born. She spent her adult life in Buffalo, S.D. and Waukegan, Ill., before returning to Bowman, N.D. in 1977. She entered Sunset Care Center in 1989.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, one sister and son Edwin Burt.
Survivors include three daughters, Stella Thompson of Bowman, N.D.; Lucille Cook of New Berlin, Wis., and Gladys and Neil Tennyson of Waukegan, Ill.; two sons Kenny and Kay Burt of Chester, Penn., and William and Ruby Burt of Manville, Wyo., one sister Embie Lake of Salem, Ore.; 13 grandchildren, including Jackie Bredthauer, Kathy Striker and Linda Linglebach of Lusk, and William A. Burt of Manville, Wyo.; 25 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steve, Jim Rick, And Mark Thompson, Dave Linglebach and William A. Bert.
Krebsback Funeral Service of Bowman was in charge of arrangements.
