John Valentine Cole

Funeral services for John Valentine Cole, age 49, were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk with Reverend Mark Lohr officiating. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. Cole died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper from complications of heart and kidney failure. He was born April 20, 1948 in Torrington the eleventh child of Edwin C. Cole, Sr. and Jewell S. (Clark) Cole.

John grew up and was educated in Lusk. He married Leona R. "Tuffy" King on Oct. 14, 1967 in Osage, Wyo. Over the years they made their home in Lusk, Newcastle, Osage and Casper. John's hobbies included reading and his family, which were foremost in his life. He worked for D. C. Drilling in Lusk, at the refinery in Newcastle for Petro-Lewis in the Osage field and finally drove a truck from Casper.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona R. "Tuffy Cole on Feb 13, 1998, his parents and two brothers.

Survivors include two children, Cathy Lewis of Casper and John R. Cole of Ft. Carson, Colo.; two granddaughters, Sharayah Lewis and Hannah Cureton of Casper; four brothers, Edwin C. Cole, Jr. of Hot Springs, Ark., Peter S. Cole of Bozeman, Mont., William D. Cole of Provo, Utah and Robert R. Cole of Lusk; five sisters, LouAnn Predmore of Newcastle, Eunice "Tine" Schmidt of Keystone S. Dak., Dorothy Cole of Dickinson, N. Dak., Maxine Eutsier of Osage, Wyo. and Mary Bowman of Lusk plus numerous nieces, nephews and many great friends.
