Arthur Amos (Art) Dieleman

Private services for Arthur Amos "Art" Dieleman, 81, of Longmont, Colo., will be held at a later date.

Arthur Amos Dieleman died July 18, 2002, in Longmont, following a brief illness.

Art was born Sept. 15, 1920, in Manville, the son of Arthur A. and Nancy (Eglehoff) Dieleman. He was raised and graduated from high school in Wyoming.

During WWII he served in the U.S. Army, 11th Airborne Division. He married Ferne Kettler on March 11, 1946, in Kansas. The couple moved to Longmont shortly thereafter.

Mr. Dieleman worked for many years as a truck driver for the Yellow Freight company, based in Denver.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Western Teamsters, Local #17.

Survivors include his wife Ferne Dieleman; sister Ruth Dorr of Longmont; half brothers Frank McLean of Arizona and Glen McLean of Wyoming. Also surviving are four nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
