Andrew J. Crowley

Andrew J. Crowley, 62, was born June 17, 1921 at Bonestead, S. Dak. the son of John and Cecelia Crowley, the youngest of thirteen children. He died Sept. 9, 1983 in Denver, Colo.

Andrew (Bud) lived most of his life in Niobrara County, Wyoming. He joined the service in 1941 and saw action in the Philippines and the Pacific where he was awarded the Bronze Star twice.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 1797.

He had been employed at the Exxon Station in Lusk and was an experienced tractor operator in construction. He was also employed by the Wyoming State Highway Department for a number of years and had worked for Boeing Aircraft in Washington and a food handling service in Portland, Ore. He was extremely proud of his service record and of his sons.

He was preceded in death by one son, five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by three sons: Gary of Hot Springs, S. Dak., Larry of Fort Carson, Colo. and Russell of Lusk; one brother, John Rogina of Bonestead, S. Dak.; three sisters, Agnes Brosnhan of Oregon City, Ore., Rose Lyon, Bakersfield, Calif. and Bertha Melal, Bonestead, S. Dak. and four grandchildren.

Services were conducted at Peet Mortuary Chapel Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Sept. 15 with the Rev. Frank Blish officiating. Rose Kremers accompanied Mark Lohr for "Rock of Ages", and "The Old Rugged Cross".

Pallbearers were Paul Heany, Lyle Miles, Dick Wilkison, Dean Leimser, Graydon Hoblit and Clifford Perris.

Interment was in Lusk Cemetery with military honors by the Lusk Elks Lodge. Arrangements were by Peet Mortuary.
