Career
- Worked eight years for the Deschutes River Guide Service in Oregon.
- Teaches creative writing at Clackamas Community College, Oregon City, Oregon; currently
(i.e., in 2000), writer-in-residence and Ford Professor of English Literature at
Williamette University, Salem, Oregon (e-mail: mlesley@willamette.edu).
- Both Winterkill and River Song won Best Novel of the Year from the
Pacific Northwest Booksellers' Association.
- The Sky Fisherman nominated for the Oregon book Award and a Pulitzer Prize.
