Lunch & Learn with the Alzheimer’s Association continues Wednesday, May 14 and May 21 at noon at the library. Bring your lunch and gain insight into the breakthroughs in brain health and more. The sessions are facilitated by Debbie Gorski, Chanda Snook and Debra Bianchi with the Alzheimer’s Association.

Paul Grant’s work rehabilitating former military dogs has been good for the town. Maeve Lindsey was born and raised on Welks Island, pouring her life into the town. Together these 3 souls find encouragement in the most mysterious places and discover a love that is bigger than their pain.

“The One: How an Ancient Idea Holds the Future of Physics” by Heinrich Pas is among new non-fiction along with “The Romance of Reality: How the Universe Organizes Itself to Create Life, Consciousness, and Cosmic Complexity” by Bobby Azarian and “All New Twenty to Make: One-Patch Quilts” by Carolyn Forster.
The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books “Mallory and the Trouble with Twins” by Arley Nopra, “Into the Wild” by Anh Do, plus a new series “Pet Whisperer P.I.” by Molly Fitz. Newer easy books include “Happy Mother’s Day from the Crayons” by Drew Daywalt, “Salamander Song” by Ginny Neil and “I Want to Be an Artist” by Laura Driscoll.
