A dozen glazed are $12 and mixed frosted are $13 and will be available to pick up on Thursday, September 25 at 7:30 a.m. at the library.

Susan Wiggs’ latest novel is entitled “Wayward Girls” and is based on true facts which happened during the turbulent Vietnam War era in Buffalo, New York. Eight Girls find themselves at a notorious Catholic reform school. This is a story of hope, solidarity, and the enduring strength of young women who find the courage to break free. “Wayward Girls” is available on CD and digitally in Libby.

Other new fiction books include “Trail to Brimstone” by Robert Vaughan, “Knife in the Back” by Karen Rose, “Outlaw Country” by William W. Johnstone, “Whispers of Sin” by Kennedy Layne, “The Magician of Tiger Castle” by Louis Sachar, “The Violet Hour” by Victoria Benton Frank and “The Hampton’s Lawyer” by James Patterson.

New nonfiction books are “Madame Fourcade’s Secret War: the Daring Young Woman Who Led France’s Largest Spy Network Against Hitler” by Lynne Olson and “Fix-It and Forget- It Simple & Satisfying: Weeknight Dinners for Your Slow Cooker or Instant Pot” by Hope Comerford.

The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new chapter books “Big Alaskan Bowhunt” by Monica Roe and the “Hunt Club Kids” series by Jimmy Tidmore. Among the newer picture books are “Splat the Cat, the Big Helper” by Rob Scotton, “Proper Badger Would Never Trash the Classroom” by Laura Glattly, “Little Owl’s Fog” by Divya Srinivasan and “How to Catch a Loveosaurus” by Alice Walstead.

“Penguin Collects Pebbles” is the theme for Storyhour on September 16, 2025. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for preschool-aged children.
