The Friends of the Library present “Faces that Changed A Nation,” a puppet show about Mount Rushmore on Wednesday, February 4 at 6:30 p.m. This Reading is FUN (RIF) program  will also feature crafts, snacks and the opportunity for children to select a book for their own!

In October 2025, Leslie Stewart took a 3-week trip called “The Baltic Capitals that she will share on Wednesday, February 11 at 6 p.m. at the library. The Baltic States are Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, which are all on the western side of the Baltic Sea near the Scandinavian countries. The trip also included visits to Krakow and Warsaw in Poland and Helsinki, Finland. Plan now to attend!

A new novel by John McMahon is “Head Cases.” FBI agent Gardner Camden is an analytical genius with an affinity for puzzles. He is also head of a squad of brilliant yet quirky agents that make up the Patterns and Recognition (PAR) Unit – the FBI’s hidden edge, brought in for cases that no one else can solve. When DNA links a murder victim to a serial killer long presumed dead, the team spring into action. A second victim establishes a pattern, and the murderer begins leaving a trail of clues and riddles especially meant for Gardner. Each member of the team must use every skill they have to solve the killer’s identity, but can they protect themselves and their families before it is too late? “Head Cases” is also available in Libby.

New non-fiction titles are “What Sheep Think About the Weather: How to Listen to What Animals are Trying to Say” by Amelia Thomas and “The Best Possible Life: How to Live With Deep Contentment, Joy, and Confidence – No Matter What” by Jim Murphy.

The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books “Lost Evangeline” by Kate DiCamillo, “Harper and the Horse Show Sabotage” by Kaitlyn Sage Patterson and “Firefox Moon” by Eoin Colfer. Among the newer easy books are “The Crazy Cat Lady” by Denise Halgren, “A Haunted Ghost Tour in Wyoming” by Louise Martin, “My Grandma and Grandpa Rock!” by Pat Benatar and “If You Make a Call on a Banana Phone” by Gideon Sterer.

“Thump, Thump!” is the theme for Storyhour on February 3, 2026. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for preschool-aged children. The Friends of the Library sponsor the 24/7 storyline, Dial-A-Story – call 307-334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story!
