Plan now to participate in Niobrara Reads featuring The Banditti of the Plains, or, The Cattlemen’s Invasion of Wyoming in 1892 by A. S. Mercer.Books can be picked up at the library and then after you read it, pass it on. In 1894, when A. S. Mercer published this angry eyewitness account of the cattlemen’s invasion of Wyoming, the book was so thoroughly and ruthlessly suppressed that few copies of that edition remain today. Historians have questioned some of Mercer’s conclusions about the Johnson County range war, but they have never controverted the facts of the cattlemen-homesteader struggle as he grimly reported them. Historian Nancy Tabb will present a program on this book in March and Historian Rick Kaan will present in April. Watch for more information.

Beginning on March 3 LegoTime will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 3:35-4:45 p.m. GameFun will be held on Thursdays beginning March 5 and feature board games as well as other games. Both events continue into May and are suitable for all ages.

“The Method” is Matthew Quirk’s latest novel. Actress Anna Vaughn put in countless hours training for her parts — learning how to fight, shoot, and drive like a pro. When her best friend Natalie disappears after a night out, the signs point to foul play and a circle of spies operating in the Manhattan area. Anna soon crosses paths with FBI agent Kevin Matthews who is on the same trail. With Matthews as her handler, she goes undercover and as the killers close in, her only chance for survival is to become as lethal as the characters she once played.
