Have you picked up your Niobrara Reads copy of “Banditti of the Plains, or, The Cattlemen’s Invasion of Wyoming in 1892” by A. S. Mercer? Copies are available to pick up at the library; you are encouraged to pass the book along after reading. The first of two programs featuring this book will be held on Wednesday, March 18 at 6 p.m. with historian Nancy Tabb from Johnson County.

Colleen Hoover’s latest novel is entitled “Woman Down.” With her suspense novel outlined and her savings nearly gone Petra Rose retreats to a secluded lakeside cabin, hoping to find inspiration to save her career. Then Detective Nathanial Saint shows up. His presence ignites a creativity she thought long burned out – but inspiration this powerful comes with a cost.

Other new fiction books are “The Seven Rings” by Nora Roberts, “Outpost in the Desert” by Robert Vaughan, “The Correspondent” by Virginia Evans, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Ace Atkins, “The Summer of You and Me” by Denise Hunter, “The Wolfer” by Loren D. Estleman and “Dear Debbie” by Freida McFadden.

New non-fiction titles include “All the Way to the River: Love, Loss, and Liberation” by Elizabeth Gilbert and “The Invisible Coup: How American Elites and Foreign Powers Use Immigration as a Weapon” by Peter Schweizer.

The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new chapter books: “Monster Escape” by Ari Avatar, “The Kingdom of Kind” by Jerry Phillips and “Sea Otter Sunrise” by Mary Pope Osborne. Newer picture books include “This is Not a Sleepy Bear Book” by Brian Gehrlein, “Snow Problem and Other Stories” by Greg Pizzoli and “Ember the Fire Dragon” by Tracey West.

“Luck of the Irish!” is the theme for Storyhour on March 10, 2026. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for preschool-aged children. Children will enjoy stories, crafts  The Friends of the Library sponsor the 24/7 storyline, Dial-A-Story. Call 307-334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story!
