Sunday, October 19 the library presents “Deer Creek Brass” in concert at the Congregational Church, 120 E. 5th Street at 1:30 p.m. The brass quintet is known for its vibrant sound, engaging performances and wide-ranging repertoire. The ensemble consists of two trumpets (Jeremy Huck and Cara Sommers), French horn (Mike Pryczynski), trombone (Chris Ehrlich) and tuba (Jerry Delgado). Plan now to attend!


“Rain Man” is the featured movie in the Route 66 Dinner and Movie series on Monday, October 27 at 6 p.m. One of the pivotal scenes in the 1988 film takes place at Route 66’s Big 8 Motel in El Reno, Oklahoma. The film is rated R and 128 minutes, a light meal will be provided. Library programs are free and open to the public.

“The Hallmarked Man” is Robert Galbraith’s latest novel. A corpse is discovered in the vault of a silver shop. The police believe it is a convicted armed robber, but Decima Mullins is certain that it is her boyfriend who mysteriously disappeared. She gets private detective Cormoran Strike and his business partner, Robin Ellacott, to look into the case. They soon discover there are more missing men who could fit the profile of the body. “The Hallmarked Man” is available digitally in Libby.

The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books “Pheasant Hunting Firsts” by Art Coulson, “Sleepover Sleuths” by Carolyn Keene, plus the series “Supersecret Survival Guides” by Robin Twiddy. New easy titles include “Picky Pig” by Lynn Maslen Kertell, “The Fearless Storyteller” by Cassie Silva, “Hornbeam By and Large” by Cynthia Rylant and “I Hate Everything” by Sophy Henn.
“BOO!” is the theme for Storyhour on October 21, 2025. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for preschool-aged children. The Friends of the Library sponsor the 24/7 storyline, Dial-A-Story. Call 307-334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story!
