Girl Mayes

We suppose you will give us the horse laugh when we tell you that Dr. Mathews brought to the Herald household on Saturday, September 8th, an eight pound girl for us to feed, clothe and give a musical education. This makes four queens at our house - our favorite hand in a poker game - and we were so glad that it was not a boy that we had a notion to go forthwith and tank up on "o-be-joyful," but our prohibition proclivities were too strong for that
and we contented ourselves with the joyous tidings that there wasn't twins and that the reputation of Girl street
has been maintained.
