The Stork is Still a Speedy Old Bird, Wins in Race With Car

That the stork is still a pretty fast old bird was clearly demonstrated last Saturday morning at Lance Creek. Ernest Siedenberg, a Lance Creek oil field worker, started to bring his wife to Lusk for confinement and while hurrying along the road through the field Mrs. Siedenberg gave birth to an eight-pound baby girl.

Siedenberg stopped at the first aid station on the field and Mrs. Fritscher attended the mother and child. Dr. Reckling was called and the Peet ambulance was taken to the field and the mother and daughter were brought to the Bryant Nursing Home in Lusk. Mother and child are reported as doing nicely with no ill effects from the unusual happening.
