Bowling Lanes Will Open in Lusk Sunday

A new, needed recreation facility, the Blue Bird Bowling Lanes will open in Lusk at 9:00 a.m. Sunday and will remain open seven days a week from then on.

While all equipment, suck as the lunch counter, has not yet been installed, automatic AMF bowling equipment is all in operation and Sunday all visitors will be given the opportunity to bowl one free line. In order to accommodate all who wish to bowl Sunday there will not be any paid bowling.

Eight alleys are in the attractive 50 x 125' building on Highway 85 in south Lusk.

Mr. and Mrs. Pete Meier, proprietors, have announced that a grand opening will be held at a later date when all equipment has been installed.

As the opening date nears interest in bowling quickens, and Wednesday night a men's bowling league is being held. A similar meeting for a women's bowling league was held Monday night and it is thought likely that a dozen teams will be organized.

GRAND OPENING OF BLUE BIRD LANES SATURDAY

The Blue Bird Bowling Lanes will hold a Grand Opening Saturday June 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Mr. and Mrs. Pete Meier, owners of the new Lusk business, are pointing out that they had wished to hold this event when the lanes were first opened last fall, but that it was impossible at that time in order to get league play started. They are inviting everyone, both bowlers and non-bowlers, to visit the Blue Bird Lanes Saturday.

There will be free coffee and donuts, free ice cream cones and candy bars. Door prizes include a bowling ball, bowling bags, bowling shoes.
