TUMBLEWEED RESTAURANT PURCHASED BY LOCAL WOMAN

The rumors have been confirmed that what will formally be known as the Tumbleweed Restaurant has been purchased by local woman Peggy Fitzwater.

"It is something I've always wanted to do," Fitzwater said of having her own restaurant.

According to Fitzwater she not only had the desire to own her own restaurant, but she was also encouraged by those within the community to finally make her dream a reality. The former Tumbleweed, which was purchased and renovated over two years ago by Scott and Becky Walker, will  now be known as the Triangle 4 Cafe` and Steakhouse. The name originates from her family's cattle brand.

Fitzwater is no stranger to the restaurant business she had not only waited tables, but has long experience in cooking in them as well. She has been working in the business since 1973 and is an experienced cake decorator too.

Growing up on her family ranch north of Jay Em she was a long time member of 4-H and was honored with a trip to Chicago, Ill. and Washington D.C. for foods nutrition accomplishments. She had even met Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle) who was a General Foods celebrity. Throughout the years she had still offered her cake decorating talents to those who wanted cakes for special occasions. Over the last few years she has been working as a field representative for the Census Bureau since 2000. She will continue to work, while running her business.

According to Fitzwater, the cafe` will be open seven days a week, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. She will also be offering carry out and delivery as well. Daily specials will be offered and there will even be cocktails available. Christmas parties and special events can also be booked at the cafe`. She will even have wireless Internet available if any company wishes to hold a lunch meeting at the cafe`.

Eventually she would like to offer more baked goods such as cakes, pies, dinner rolls, and perhaps even homemade doughnuts. Fitzwater will also be asking for public comments and suggestions after she opens. She will also be accepting cake orders and will have books available at the cafe`.

"I'm looking forward to the future," Fitzwater said. "And having the cafe` open a very long time."

The Triangle 4 Cafe' and Steak House will be open Nov. 1. There will be an open house held at a later date.
