Highway Super Service Receives Award
The highest award of the Texas Oil Company was conferred upon the
local Texaco Station, the Highway Super Service, managed by Jake
Lorenzen and Ernest Hansen, Monday of this week. Jake received the
Texaco honor plaque in recognition of outstanding performance and along
the lines of sales, service and appearance.

Noal Larson Is partner in Hiway Super Service
The Hiway Super Service Station has announced that Noal Larson has become associated with John Lorenzen and "Vic" Senters in that business. The partnership became effective October 1. Before entering the Army, Mr. Larson was employed by Jake Lorenzen as bookkeeper at the station, and after his Army discharge he returned to become employed by the two men with whom he is now associated.
Mr. Larson will have charge of the filling station phase of the business while Mr. Lorenzen and Mr. Senters will operated the Bee-Line aligning service and other mechanical details.

Hiway Super Service to Operate Bee-Line
Under lease agreement, the Hiway Super Service will continue to operated the Bee Line Aligning Service for another year.
A.F. Castro recently purchased Jake Lorenzen's interest in the business, and Mrs. Jennie Held owns the other half interest.

Texas Company to Build New Station
Oscar E. Bostrom, Lusk contractor, was awarded the bid for construction of a new building for the Hiway Super Service Station in Lusk this Wednesday morning by the Texas Company.
The station will be built on the location now occupied by Hiway Super service Station at Second and Main streets. The business is operated by John B. and David Lorenzen. It is planned to start tearing down the present building next week.
The new building will be of pumice block with porcelain-enamel facing like other modern Texas Company stations in the nation. It is hoped to open the new station about June 1. In order to make the station more accessible the entire level of the station will be cut down near the street level.
In order that the Hiway Super Station Service may continue to serve its customers during the building period pumps are temporarily installed across the street adjacent to the Bee-line Aligning building.

Hiway Super Service Station to Hold Grand Opening of New Station Sat.
The new Hiway Super Service Station, Leased and operated by John and Dave Lorenzen, will hold its grand opening Saturday, August 25. It will be a gala day with free gifts, and free cokes given away during the entire day, and door prizes awarded from among those registered.
Dismantling of the old station and construction of the new was started in the spring and the work completed several weeks ago.
This Texaco station is one of Lusk's older stations, being established in 1930 by George Held and Bob Himes. A few years later Jake Lorenzen bought out Mr. Himes and managed the station. During the 1930's he also added the Bee-Line Aligning Service which remains an important part of the business.
In 1943 when Jake was called to the service John Lorenzen and Vic Senters purchased the station, with Noal Larson joining the partnership.
The present partners are father and son. John is a native of this county, son of George Lorenzen, being born on a ranch near Lusk, and began his automotive experience in employ of George Held. Later her took an auto mechanics course in Kansas City. He was employed by the Held Garage until 1943. David began work for Jake Lorenzen at the same station when still in grade school and eventually purchased the Larson interest in the business A year ago last January John and David purchased the interest of Mr. Senters. Mrs. John Lorenzen is bookkeeper for the firm.
Contractor for the new station was Oscar E. Bostrom, with D & M. Electric doing the electrical work and D.F. Wilson the plumbing.
