Firemen called to Thrifty Laundry
The fire alarm about 5:30 Tuesday evening took the firemen on a run to the Thrifty laundry where excess oil around the burner had taken fire in the basement of the building.
The laundry is owned by Mr. and Mrs. George Doman, who, with the help of employees had the blaze fairly well under control by the time the firemen arrived.
No damage was done to the laundry proper and work was resumed Wednesday morning as usual.

Thrifty Laundry Is All Established In New Quarters
The Thrifty Laundry is now in complete operation in its building in north Lusk which was formerly occupied by the Niobrara Electric Association.
Mr. and Mrs. Huck Baldwin report that they are very satisfied with the facilities. In addition to providing more room for the laundry there are several features such as the installation of a two inch water line instead of a one inch water line as before which will improve the service the business is able to provide. The laundry was formerly housed in a building on south Elm Street.
The business will continue to operate under the same policies as it has in the past. The move was started the end of December and completed about Jan. 5.
The building in which the business is was originally built for a laundry but has been remodeled to be used for other purposes.
