W.L. Klemke Discontinues Lusk Route After 200,000 Miles of Milk Delivering

"We have enjoyed serving the public, said W.L. Klemke as he and Mrs. Klemke are retiring from the dairy delivery business after 21 1/2 years of operating the business.

Their delivery trucks have covered 200,000miles during the years they have been delivering milk and have only two minor accidents in all this miles.

There have been very few times that their truck has failed to get through in spite of drifted roads and below zero temperatures, 36 degrees below zero being the coldest that they have recorded. During the blizzard of '49 they missed three days of making a delivery, which is the most days they ever missed aat one time. There have been a good many times when the trips had to be made with a bobsled and horses. 

The Klemke Dairy is located three and a half miles west of Lusk and during the years has been built into a modern dairy with a fine Brown Swiss dairy herd. 

The Klemkes will continue to operated the dairy ranch but will sell their milk direct to the Kilmer Creamery.
