W.W. Culver Named Manager of Jay Em Rock Shop; Work is Progressing

W.W. (Buck) Culver of Lusk has been named as manager of the Jay Em Rock Shop. The business has been reopened and he has high hopes that the business will develop so that it will mean much to the economy of this area.

The business is owned by Lake Harris of Jay Em who has operated it for many years on a part time basis. The business is engaged in the manufacturing of monuments, grave markers, fireplace stones, table tops, all types of ornamental rocks and expects to be of service to the rock hounds of this area. 

Mr. Culver is owner and operator of the Western Repair Shop in Lusk and will divide his time between the operation of the business here and the Rock Shop. 

At present the business is employing Vern Vondra, Jim Harris, Wes Shoults, Mr. Culver and Mr. Harris.

Mr Culver says that all the people in the firm are capable of producing only the finest work and that "we certainly have the finest stone with which to work" so there is no reason that that we can;t make a real industry for the people of this area. 

NEEDS AREA SUPPORT

Mr. Culver told The Herald that if the business is going to be the success it can be, the people of this area will have to give it their support. He went on to say that the business is nearly caught up now on back orders and that ir is in a position to offer quick delivery.

No quarry work will be done until nest spring, he says, but at present a big stockpile of rock is on hand.
