Potter Trucking Is Fast Growing Transportation Business

The W.H. Potter Trucking Company, which now employs 14 men, is Lusk's fast growing transportation business.

Mr. Potter went into business for himself only four years ago and since that time has grown from a one-man one-truck operation to a 14-man 10 truck and 15 trailer operation. The company specializes in the hauling of hot road oil in insulated  trucks to road contractors. Mr. Potter has been especially busy the past two years hauling the hot oil to contractors building the new interstate highway system.

Mr. Potter estimates that 75 percent of his trucks pass through Lusk on their trips, and thus this is a primary reason for locating here .

He hopes to have the steel shop building completed in the next few weeks and plans to have two full time mechanics working.

Mr. Potter points out that the source of his revenue is from outside Lusk, and thus the business brings a sizeable amount of "fresh money" into circulation here.

Before going into business for himself, Mr. Potter was a R.B. Wilson driver. In 1953 he purchased a truck and leased it to the Wilson firm.
