Tel-A-Larm Incorporated; Expects to Start Production Within 30 Days
International Tel-A-Larm Systems is now officially incorporated in Wyoming, and it's president, Jakie Heib of Lusk and Bismark, N. Dak. says that the company should start assembling in Lusk within the next 30 days.
Tel-A-Larm is an electronic device which automatically sends out a warning in case of fire and can be so set that it can give warning in case of other danger. The federal government is being contacted in regard to the device's use as part of the Civil Defense program.
The board of directors held its first meeting in Lusk Friday and Saturday. Mr. Heib is president; Victor Uttke of Billings, Mont. is secretary-treasurer; George Lockie of Miles City, Mont. is vice-president; John Sailer of Bismark, N. Dak. is second vice-president; Frederick Morton of Miles City , Mont. is assistant secretary-treasurer.
The firm has leased the basement of The Ranger Hotel for its assembling operation and will have offices on the second floor of The Ranger.
Mr. Heib points out that several of the machines are already in operation and that the machine has American as well as foreign patents.
Tel-A-Larm may be activated by phone, either manual or dial. Once the machine is contacted, a pre-recorded message is used by the machine to give instructions to the caller in regard to pertinent information that should accompany the report. At the same time the machine is connected with a siren or other warning device actuated automatically. The recorded message is played back over an amplifier system in the fire hall and other selected locations throughout the community.
Mr. Heib expects that some 25 to 50 people will be employed assembling the devices within the next year. He points out that Lusk is the assembly point and that parts for the devices are being made by companies in many parts of the United States.
