Lusk Montgomery Ward Will Open in February

Jim Shillenn announced this week that he is going to open a Montgomery Ward store in Lusk in February.

Mr. Shillenn has operated The Westerner, a clothing and novelty store in Lusk for the past 16 years. He will continue to operate his she repair and saddle shop in conjunction with the new store. 

A close-out sale of all merchandise in The Westerner was started earlier this month and is continuing with further reductions. 

The Montgomery Ward store will be housed in the quarters now occupied by The Westerner in the Odd Fellows building. In addition to providing mail order service, The Montgomery Ward store will carry a stock of some $8,000 to $10,000 on the floor for immediate delivery.

The tentative date for the opening has been set as February 16.
