Scott Sides Buys Trail Motel

Mr. and Mrs. Scott Sides have purchased the Trail Motel from Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Merchen.  The change in ownership was effective last Thursday.

Trail Motel in Lusk Now Open

The recently constructed Trail Motel in Lusk is now open and according to Archie Huey has been full every night since the units were finished on July 12. 

The new motel was built by Mr. and Mrs. Archie Huey and Mrs. Emma Rogers. The motel has two units with a double bed and three units with two double beds. A three bedroom house which is being built in connection with the motel is not yet complete. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Huey and family will occupy house upon its completion. The Hueys will operate the motel and the motel office will be in the new Huey home. 

The motel is located on Highway 20 in the west part of Lusk. Landscaping and other beautification plans will be done in the near future.

Merchens Buy Trail Motel From Hueys

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Merchen have purchased the Trail Motel from Mr. and Mrs. Archie Huey. Merchens will take possession March 1, 1965.

Mr. and Mrs. Huey will remain in Lusk and are planning on building a new home in Lusk, They first opened the motel in July 1954 with five units. As soon as one unit, which is now being built, is completed, the motel will have 16 units.

Mr. Merchen , proprietor of the Midwest Hardware and Furniture Company, will also continue to operate that business.

Mr. Huey will continue as district Engineer with the Wyoming Highway Departments.

New Managers have been named at the Trail Motel

New managers have been named at the Trail Motel in Lusk.  The daughter and son-in-law of owners Norman and Alyce Rockwell have returned to Lusk, and now operate the 22-unit complex for them.  Kirt and Wendy Hale began their new duties on Oct. 1.
