CARRIED A DRUM

Collected and Presented by
Local Author David Chapman

Original letters from the Civil War … a slice of history collected and now presented …

Saturday, June 24 the library will host local author, David Chapman during a book signing beginning at 8 a.m. “The Man Who Carried a Drum” is the first book of Chapman’s. A brown bag lunch is planned at the library later this summer for discussion of the book as well.

David Chapman graduated from high school in Fort Collins, Colorado, then served as a combat intelligence analyst during the last year of the Vietnam War. After the Air Force, David worked in nuclear power, computers, and a chemical lab.

About ten years ago, David began to develop his writing talent into a professional pursuit. First he did technical writing, then he trained and worked in commercial writing. That gave him the confidence to begin his first book project–THE MAN WHO CARRIED A DRUM–a transcription of letters written by his Great-grandfather and family before, during and after the Civil War.

David lives in Lusk, Wyoming with his wife, Carol. David is brother to Joe, Terry and John Chapman. He is now researching his next book; it will feature a famous Chapman relative, Johnny Appleseed.

A must-read for all history enthusiasts!
