The second of four films in the “Play to Film” series will be Harvey, a whimsical story about a fun loving inebriate millionaire Elwood P. Dowd, played by Jimmy Stewart. A mild-mannered, pleasant man, Elwood just happens (he says) to have an invisible friend resembling a 6-foot rabbit. He introduces everyone to Harvey and after some time his family becomes concerned about his mental state, and his sister tries to have him placed in a sanatorium. That action leads to everyone around Elwood growing accustomed to hearing about Harvey and some even truly believing that he is real. This is a wondrous journey, with many humorous turn of events.
This classic film is 112 minutes. A light meal will be a part of the evening and Deane Tucker, PhD will facilitate the discussion.
